10 tips for the best chocolate chip cookie

Who doesn't love a chewy, melt in your mouth, warm chocolate chip cookie? These 10 tips will help you create the best possible cookie!

  1. Room temperature butter - this allows all the ingredients to fully adhere and combine. Your cookies will spread perfectly as they bake if the butter is the right temperature.

  2. Quality flour - I find that using a quality flour can affect the taste of the cookie so get the best.

  3. Salted butter - I always use salted butter, that little extra salt outside of what the recipe asks for helps to enhance the flavor of the chocolate.

  4. Don't over beat the eggs into the recipe, doing so will create a stiffer cookie.

  5. Add your flour a little bit at a time. All your looking for is for the dough to pull away from the side of the bowl.

  6. Use different kinds of chocolate chips to create a dynamic cookie. Mixing milk chocolate with semi sweet and dark chocolate is delightful!

  7. Don't be afraid to get creative! Try something new by adding in other elements to your chocolate chip cookie. Adding fruit, nuts or caramel bits can make your recipe more versatile.

  8. Don't over bake. set your timer for less time than the recipe calls for. You can always add more time to get that beautiful golden brown color but you can't undo an over bake.

  9. Don't scoop your flour! Doing so actually adds to much flour to the recipe. Pouring it into the measuring cup is the way to go.

  10. Use a quality vanilla. I use to use the cheapest brand at the grocery store but, believe me, you will notice a difference!
