There are some great tips out there for the perfect pie dough and I encourage you to have a google and use the tips that produce the best results for you.
Here are just a few to get you started and for you home baker's out there none of this will likely come as a surprise to you.
Nothing adds a rich flavor like butter, try an all butter recipe that wont disappoint!
Shortening and lard have higher melting points so will provide a flakier crust, try combining butter and shortening/lard
To prevent meltage chill your bowl as well as your flour
If you noticed some melting going on, simply pop it back in the fridge for a few minutes to firm it up.
For flaky fruit pie crusts use walnut sized pieces of butter, you'll love the result!
